Dr. Ed Puodziukas finished his high school education at St. Michael's College School which was a spawning ground for many professional hockey players, but he only got to manage a team. He studied English Literature and the Sciences at the University of Western Ontario, followed by four years at University of Western Ontario's medical school. He completed his rotator internship at St. Michael's Hospital in 1972.

Thereafter he was engaged in general practice for approximately 20 years in downtown Toronto. He began to cultivate an interest in Industrial and Occupational Medicine, having met an inspiring dermatologist at the Teaching Hospitals who was instrumental in formalizing Canada's training program for physicians who wished to specialize in Occupation Medicine.

In 1991, he closed his general practice in downtown Toronto and began to freelance in Industrial Medicine and in the area of Disability Medicine and Evaluations. In 2003, he received certification as an Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners

For these past 15 years, he has provided medical advice and services to many different Industrial sectors: automotive assembly, aerospace, heavy construction, electronics, forestry, financial services, hospitality industry, manufacturing, plastics, petroleum, printing, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications.

In 2004, he and his family moved from Mississauga to the Durham Region where he assumed the management and direction of Mobile Industrial Health Services, a clinic which was established in 1979.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Puodziukas is still working on the mental aspect of his golf game, and one ambition is to come close to breaking 100. Other favourite family activities include visiting his son's web site to keep track of what part of the world his son is visiting with his music ventures. His daughter has not yet left the family home, as she is completing studies at Teacher's College and is looking forward to commencing that career next year.
