Mr. Brown is dedicated to reducing accidents and the impact of workplace and personal injury both to the employer and the employee. He enhances a company culture improving hazard recognition, dealing with disasters and accommodating re-integration.
Kelvin holds an Honours Degree in Physical and Health Education, majoring in Work Physiology, Injury Management and Motor Learning. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CARP Ontario [Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals] and has a Certificate in Mediation from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. During his 23 years at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Mr. Brown assisted in disability management and mediation, vocational rehabilitation counseling, worksite analysis, placements, crisis intervention, and regularly provided training to both internal and external stakeholders.
Entering into the field of Disability Management in the mid-1980's he contributed greatly to the Ontario Medical Association's partnership in ‘Timely Return to Work', the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board's [WSIB] Return to Work Policy & ‘Workplace Best Practices' and the National Institute of Disability Management and Research [NIDMAR] present successes in return to work.
For 10 years, Kelvin has provided industry with ‘Best Practices' and timely interventions to ensure companies realize their greatest potential rebate, while ensuring a safe work environment. He is partnered with quality service providers to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Mr. Brown has participated in advisory roles to Government Ministers. His disability management concepts, published at the ‘Ontario Board', are used in Ontario and other jurisdictions in Canada and the United States. |
